“A collaboration between Canadian\Japanese jazz/noise/avantgarde/grindcore artist Haggari Nakashe (sometimes operates as a solo artists and sometimes as a band under the same moniker) and Israeli multi-generic experimentalist, Gaop. Referring to what they do as “extreme music for people with a short attention span”, their tracks are just that; short blasts, often melodic, and 90% hummable \ memorable.”

Here we have a re-release of an album that was limited to 20 copies and sold out years ago.  A Casio/Grind/Noise collaboration by Haggari Nakashe from Canada/Japan and Gaop from Israel.  When two artists from different countries collaborate with each other you know it will be golden.  Pictures of Gold and Terror does just that and then some.  Remember being a kid and rockin’ out on the Casio you got for Christmas and your parents looking at you like some kinda dumbass.  Well this album will surely piss your parents off but as for you, you’ll love it.  With the added elements of grind and noise one can only ask themselves is this ok to be listening to?  Well my good man/woman yes it is, and yes its worth the nosebleed at the end of it all.  You can’t also forget that this album is several years old and probably about only 25 people before yourself has listened to this.  That is unless you are reading this in the future and me typing this is actually in the past then who knows how many people have heard it by then.  Everything I can be typing right now could be completely irrelevant to you by now and I wouldn’t know because past me wrote this.  So you person reading this in the present, whichever present that is at the point in time you are reading this have fun and grind. -RR!

 My homeboy for many years Xrin Arms brings us this great mixtape that features a bunch of  unreleased hidden gems as well as the best of 2011.  Produced heavily by XA himself as well as the likes of X the Detective and Ghost Noises.  XA has proven himself to be something to look out for in 2012 and on.  If you remember XA from his grind days you are probably asking yourself, yo X whats up with the hip hop.  I know I asked myself that same thing and the one answer I got from XA himself was that he had been doing hip hop way before ever doing the grind game.  So you gotta ask yourself why?  Well if you ask me an artist is capable of doing whatever he or she feels like doing.  Progression is a great thing and it really shows all sides of a person.  I’m still blown away with the production quality that XA puts out and it can only get better from here but how much better can one person get?  We’ll have to wait and see huh?  For now enjoy this great mixtape.  -RR!

Our good friends from Indonesia, DXC and To Die have sent over this killer 3 way split with Ansagata included in the mix.  Each track brings the best of what each of these artists bring to the table.  DXC brings his spooky ambient electronics while To Die does some great improv that turns into some kinda grind monster towards the end.  Ansagata is the newest addition to the RR family and brings us a 9 minute guitar masterpiece that makes the end of this album just that much better.  I’ve had this release for a good while now just hadn’t put it up till now since I had kinda lost it in my files…oops.  Enjoy this great album and prepare for a weekend of a ton of free music. -RR!

Ron from the great Thirsting for Men has sent us a collection of sound clips, samples, and unused material from various projects of his.  He pretty much considered them junk but finally decided to put them together and unleash them on the world.  This is a great collection of material that almost got deleted and were proud to put it up on here and archive it for the rest of the time we have left here on this digital playground.  Look forward to several great releases throughout this week all through the weekend and also look forward to a new Thirsting for Men album this Saturday as well.  -RR!

So I was talking to my mom the other night and asked her, “Mom, why does all the good noise come from Michigan?” to which my mom replied “How the fuck am I supposed to know?” now if I could answer that question I would in a second.  I really have no idea why all the good noise I have been listening to the past 5 years is all from Michigan.  Harsh Inhale by redSK is another example of why the good noise is coming out of Detroit.  Could it be the water?  Could it be the pussy?  Hell is it the food?  Either way this album does not fail when it comes down to brass tax.  4 blown out tracks reeking of the best herbs that man can grow and then some.  I would totally recommend cranking this up to eleven but remember, we are not responsible for any injuries or damaged equipment. -RR!

Happy New Year from all of us here at ROBO! Robotica.  Last year we started the year off with some hip-hop from Evolve and this year we are doing it again.  This time joining forces with the beat magician ill fisto and lyrical ninja Evolve bring you The Come Up.  Not only are these guys from Texas but they are also from my hometown of Donna Texas.  If you are from the Rio Grande Valley you know that there is a ton of rap, hip-hop, tejano artists trying to make it in the same industry that everyone else that is in the music business is trying to accomplish.  Yeah its the same all over the place but when you are from way the fuck down here on the bottom tip of Texas shit can kinda get weird as fuck.  Every once in a while something comes out of the abyss and it is just too good to pass up.  From all the hip-hop I have heard around here in my area no one can spit the way Evolve can spit, and the same goes to ill fisto, his beats can hold up to any big time producer and then some.  2012 has just started but we already have a great lineup of releases ready to rock you like a hurricane.  -RR!

I have known the guys of The Leviathan’s Mandible for more years now then I can remember.  Never have I ever met them in person, just like most of the artists on my roster that is still under construction.  Over the years I have befriended more people then I have in real life.  I don’t know if this is a good thing or not but to me it works out fucking awesome.  When I first started this label my one mission was to release music done by myself and my friends.  It quickly picked up steam and is now what it is today, half net label half free music site.  This year was the year of free music, even though we have been doing this forever it had become something everyone had to do.  With the death of CD’s, c’mon we all know you rarely buy any these days, digital music is where people invest most of their money and or most of their hard drive space.  I have always been about getting free music, weather it be illegal or legal, that’s just the way I have always been.  But nowadays doing it the legal way is alot easier seeing as alot more people have given in to the free music game and it is taking over fast.  Now back to TLM we had been friends for many years like I said and I have released several side projects by members of TLM but never of TLM themselves.  I was finally contacted by front man Travis about possibly putting out their live ep through us and I couldn’t say no.  Recorded live at Downtown Music 34 in Harrisonburg , VA on November 19th 2011, I have included the video at the bottom of this post for you viewing pleasure as well.  I would like to thank everyone in the Leviathan’s Mandible for getting this to us and of course for letting us release this.  I would also like to thank everyone who has downloaded, released, or just visited the blog over the past few years, without you all we would be nothing at all.  And from all of us here at ROBO! Robotica we would like to wish you a safe and happy new year, 2011 was awesome but 2012 will be even better. -RR!

To tell you the truth I really can’t remember how I found Thirsting For Men.  I think it might have been Twitter but i’m not completely sure.  All I had listened to was 4 songs over and over and was hooked, not to mention the reoccurring theme in each song that just fills anyone full of joy.  This album has pretty much everything you are looking for in an album in these days of ever changing everything.  Complete with one of the best covers I have ever seen put out on RR and on anything else for that matter done by Jack Cripps, if I can get a print of it you know it will be going in my office (bathroom).  30 tracks of crushing grindcore in just under 30 minutes, it will probably take you longer to read the amazing titles of all the songs then it will take you to listen to the whole album, I know, it happened to me twice.  I just know you will put this album on repeat for a few hours and not get tired of thrashing around your living butt neked.  This the debut of Thirsting For Men is by far one of the best releases of this year and probably for the first half of the new year, it was getting out out on the 1st of January but I couldn’t wait to get this out.  Crank this album up and hang out with your wang out  -RR!

Josh Pattison, the mastermind behind Off White Pegasus brings us his newest EP After Dark which is a song that had never been released before and has now been remastered for a full release.   Also featuring a new track called Eyes along with a second version of the song as well as an instrumental.  This is a very dark album for Off White Pegasus and very out of the ordinary from his other works but just as good if not better.  Josh asked me to release this on Christmas Eve so I can only imagine this as being a gift from him to all of you so a big thank you is in store.  Roll a spliff, sit back in your lazy boy, grab the hot chocolate off the stove,  push play, crank up the volume and take a drip after dark. -RR!

So a few months back I was doing some random searching on youtube, you know the type of searching you only do when you are at the lowest of lows and bored out of your mind.  I fell upon Mechonat Hereg while searching for random videos made by fans of Agoraphobic Nosebleed, I set the settings to most recent downloads and the one at the very top of the list was a track called Snipe Hunt.  They took a track by AgNb and manipulated in there own way and created a masterful piece of work that just made me want to listen to more.  I started doing research right away and found out they were from Israel, my first reaction was wow, I’ve never heard anything of this type from Israel, granted I haven’t really heard much from the area really at all.  I was able to find them on Facebook and automatically extended the offer of releasing their album here in the states as a free download and they agreed to it.  I had been talking to one of the two members of Mechonat Hereg, Rafi and he seemed really astonished of how I found them being from the states and all.  This made me realize that we aren’t so much different from one another even living so many thousands away from each other.  I was just as astonished at the fact that I found people that enjoy and produce music just like I do and from the other side of the world.  This label / blog has really in my opinion would be nothing without the internet, none of the bands you listen to from this blog would have never been found by myself if it wasn’t for this luxury a bunch of people take for granted.  This is a tool of great power and without it we would be nothing, without you all, the fans, we would be nothing.  So from all of us here at ROBO!
