RR.114 – xrin arms – scumbag summer mixtape
My homeboy for many years Xrin Arms brings us this great mixtape that features a bunch of unreleased hidden gems as well as the best of 2011. Produced heavily by XA himself as well as the likes of X the Detective and Ghost Noises. XA has proven himself to be something to look out for in 2012 and on. If you remember XA from his grind days you are probably asking yourself, yo X whats up with the hip hop. I know I asked myself that same thing and the one answer I got from XA himself was that he had been doing hip hop way before ever doing the grind game. So you gotta ask yourself why? Well if you ask me an artist is capable of doing whatever he or she feels like doing. Progression is a great thing and it really shows all sides of a person. I’m still blown away with the production quality that XA puts out and it can only get better from here but how much better can one person get? We’ll have to wait and see huh? For now enjoy this great mixtape. -RR!

It’s that time of year again, its cold outside, the color of trees has changed, and everyone now has some fake smile slapped on their face. With the endless feed of shit coming through our televisions, radio, and even internet, it is kinda hard to forget that just in a few weeks Christmas will be here. I have helped put together holiday compilations but never one in this fashion. I have assembled what can probably be labeled as some of the best musicians around in the underground scene and made them put together something completely of the ordinary from what they might usually do. They hit the studio and all brought to the table what you now have here in front of your eyes. What started as simply an idea at the beginning of the year has finally become a reality. I couldn’t have done this without the help of some really good people, and they all took time to produce this great piece of work, and all for free. We have Josh down at GrindThieves, TLR and all the folks at Magicore, GugerArt killed it on the artwork, and J Randall who gave me the go ahead with also putting this out on Grindcore Karaoke and pretty much being the backbone of the whole project. I would like to thank all of them from the bottom of my resin filled heart because without you this couldn’t be possible. I would also like to thank all of you who take the time to visit this blog and download all of what we have to offer. This is a small operation we run here but we do what we can do bring you nothing but the best in free music. This album is no different, 28 tracks of holiday cheer clocked in at over an hour. If this album doesn’t get you in the holiday mood then something must be very wrong with you. As far as I know there hasn’t been a Christmas Compilation put together as extreme as this one and we promise to bring you one every year from here on out. We had a ton of fun getting this together and we really hope that all the hard work put into this pays off. Finally I would also like to thank all of the musicians who took the time to put get into the studio and record something fresh for all of us to enjoy. Merry Christmas from all of us here at ROBO! The Youth Feeders Compilation was created out of honest expression of odd structures of life and making art. Xrin Arms hopped on a plane from Michigan after spending a month recording his over the top psych rock album “Coy Insanity” and flew to Spokane Washington where he met p.Wrecks, Guttah Face & Quiz 10, a connection was instantly made and music was being churned out left and right, which also birthed the Heavy Barrelz forthcoming album entitled “Tha Treachery”. This is a peek into a group of artists and what it looks like when they collide styles, personalities & passions into one bundle of pain, strife and strive. A little hip hop, some punk rock & a sprinkle of electronic beats and a whole lot of restless power is what The Youth Feeders Compilation will feed you.

This is the first installment of what will become a annual compilation and let me say volume one is totally banging. Spring Cleaning Music started as just a thought and quickly became reality. This thing really got moving really fast and the lineup just kept getting better. We kept pushing back the release date to give some extra time to have tracks finished and whatnot. Plus when ever does a deadline actually get met at the right time? I want to thank Taylor and Katie for helping out with the cover and RR logo, they went out of their way to help me out and all for free, much love to you both. I also want to thank each and every person who is taking part on this compilation. Thanks for jumping on board and sending me tracks that just demand to be listened to over and over. This compilation has taken alot of sleep away from me and im sure it will keep me up even after its uploaded. This album has totally exceeded my expectations and it makes the future of ROBO! Robotica look really good. This is the official re-launch of the label even though I have been posting albums as of late. This is the Re-Grand Opening I guess you can say. In the past few months we have had way over a thousand downloads on the site and that is really good seeing as the main promotion was done mostly on twitter. So with this I leave you a hour and 30 minutes worth of ear pleasing tracks that will get your blood flowing once again. And one more BIG thank you to all of you for downloading this album and everything else on out catalog.
